Mr.
Popov made his Metropolitan Opera debut February-March
2010 as Kovalyov in “Nose” by Shostakovich. Mr. Popov was also nominated for a Grammy
in 2009 for this performance of District Constable. Also,
this past season Mr. Popov recorded the part of young slave “Elektra” with
Maestro Gergiev and the London Symphony Orchestra.
Mr.
Popov returns to the Metropolitan Opera in 2010-2011 as Simpleton
in “Boris Godunov.”
Other future contracts include: Simpleton “Boris Godunov” Nice
(February 2011) and at Aix en Provence (July 2011), and District
Constable “Nose” Lyon (October 2011).
