Avgust Amonov

Young dramatic-spinto tenor, Avgust Amonov has already worked with such conductors as Valery Gergiev, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Nikolai Nekrasov, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Arnold Katz, Mark Ermler and Fuat Mansurov.

Amonov has toured to China, Korea, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands (Concertgebouw), Finland (Mikkeli Festival), Denmark, Australia, France and the UK (Albert Hall, London).

June 2007, Mr. Amonov sang Don Carlos “Don Carlos” at the Mariinsky Theatre with Olga Guryakova, Ekaterina Gubanova, Vassily Gerello, and René Pape and conducted by Maestro Valery Gergiev.

In July 17, 2007, Mr. Amonov debuted as Siegmund “Die Walküre” with the Mariinsky Theatre at the Metropolitan Opera. In December 2007, he made his debut as “Otello” with Maestro Gergiev and the Mariinsky at Kennedy Center, Washington DC. In January 2008, Mr. Amonov sang “Promastaras” with Greek National Opera. 

In September 2008, Mr. Amonov sang Manrico “Il Trovatore” with Minnesota Opera. 

Also in September 2008, Mr. Amonov sang Dmitry in a concert version of “Brothers Karamazov” with Rotterdam Philharmonic, conducted by Maestro Gergiev.  This performance was also recorded and released on CD. Also in 2008, Mr. Amonov sang Siegmund “Die Walküre” with the Mariinsky at Covent Garden and appeared in “Nose” at the Opéra Bastille.

Mr. Amonov sang Radames “Aida” (Dolora Zajick as Amneris) with Greek National Opera in May 2009 and Vaudemont “Iolanta” with Kentucky Opera. In 2010, Mr. Amonov sang Cavaradossi “Tosca” with the Savonlinna Festival.

In 2011, Mr. Amonov made a successful house and role debut with Opera Colorado as Prince “Rusalka”.  In 2011, Mr. Amonov will sing the title role of “Otello” with Lithuanian National Opera. 

In the fall of 2011, Mr. Amonov made his Austrian debut as Gherman “Pique Dame” with Opernhaus Graz in a new stage production by Peter Konwitschny.

At the beginning of December 2011, Mr. Amonov sang Der Kaiser “Die Frau ohne Schatten” with Maestro Gergiev at the Mariinsky Theatre.  The performance was telecast live and also recorded for future release on the Mariinsky recording label.

In 2012, Mr. Amonov returns to Opera Colorado for Manrico “Il Trovatore” and also sings Parsifal “Parsifal” with the London Symphony (conducted by Maestro Gergiev).  In the Fall of 2012, Mr. Amonov will sing Radames “Aida” with Finnish National Opera.

In 2013, Mr. Amonov will sing six performances of Der Kaiser “Frau ohne Schatten” with Finnish National Opera.  Future contracts also include Calaf “Turandot” with Vancouver Opera and Gherman “Pique Dame” with Oper Leipzig.
