Ms.
Kataeva was born in 1987 and finished her musical studies with a
focus in piano in 2002.
Ms. Kataeva received
first prize at the Novosibirsk Conservatory voice competition in
2006 and received first prize at the Third International competition
of children’s and youthful work in Odessa, Ukraine 2006.
Ms.
Kataeva recently graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov conservatory
in St. Petersburg, Russia. At
the conservatory, she has performed Dunyashi “The Imperial
Bride” by Rimsky-Korsakov; second witch and spirit in “Dido
and Aeneas” Purcell.
Ms. Kataeva has also performed with the
soloists of the Mariinsky Theatre Academia and as a soloist of the
philharmonic of Pskov.
Ms.
Kataeva’s repertoire includes: Orfeo “Orfeo”,
Olga “Eugene Onegin”, Dido “Dido and Aeneas”,
Carmen “Carmen”, Rosina “Il barbiere di Siviglia” and
Sonetka “Ekaterina Ismailova”. Future
contracts include Olga “Eugene Onegin” with Edmonton
Opera.
Ms. Kataeva is a currently a young artist at Oper am
Rhein. In 2011 at
Oper am Rhein, she performed Cherubino “Le nozze di Figaro”,
3rd Lady “Die Zauberflöte”, Sister Mathilde “Dialogue
of the Carmélites” and Sandmaennchen “Hansel und
Gretel.” In
the 2012, Ms. Kataeva will perform the following roles with Oper
am Rhein: Suivante d`Hebe “Castor et Polux”, Novize “Moerder
Kaspar Brand”, Geister/ Kinderstimmen “Frau ohne Schatten”,
and Beatrice “Le testament de la tante Caroline”.
